Crazy People Podcast

Russ and Maurice look at the what it takes to start your own company and make it in business. As the title indicates, they aren’t looking for those ironclad guys their straight and arrow careers, but rather for those madmen, that zigged, then zagged and zigged again, all while doing a 360 turn with their eyes closed. In short: crazy people. So, if you are looking for the ’my boat, my house, my riches’ type guests, this podcast might not be for you. For everyone else who is grounded in the real world, it will be a hilarious, entertaining, informative and hopefully inspiring mix of stories of people of all walks of life within the greater business world.

It's that time again: A 5th episode is here again. This time, the guys have a good'ol sitdown where they revisit topics of previous episodes to share experience gems fed by their current jobs, their consultations of startups, or simply what they've seen work. This time they touch back to Jeff's sales story and startup stories from Austin or Helena. Bourbons get a mention as well.

Richard A. Smith, or Raz how his friends call him, is a former college football star of the Clemson Tigers. If not for injuries in his rookie year, he would’ve been a well known NFL player. But life sometimes plans different. He did play for the NFL Europe and found his love for and in Germany – Munich in particular.
That’s where his incredible career took more turns than Lombard Street in San Francisco. Euro Dance Music star, producer, owner of a range of companies in Automotive, chicken rotisserie grills, clothing or simply anything that linked German companies with the American market.
The lessons shared in this episode are plenty. The level of craziness is as well.
Just our kind of guest.

Aaron Schmookler is the prototypical guest for what has become one of the red lines: the zig-zagging of career paths that culminated in the founding of a company to solve an issue our protagonist has experienced firsthand.
In Aaron’s case, it was bad to toxic environments Through his company The Yes Works, he now found his calling of helping executives and companies with re-engineering their company culture.
There also might be a story where he’s had an unpleasant experience on the Appalachian Trail  to why he looks out of the window during the interview.

Every fifth show, Russ and Maurice will take time to just reflect on different topics to share about their experiences and talk about topics that are crucial for any professional.
They kick it off with these topics:
How to not loose focus and give into the noise surrounding us?
What is the craziest thing you've done ahead of it's time?
Lean back and enjoy how they talk about the beginning of the internet age, how to bring a TV show online, alternative energies and the almost-successes they had.

Beau is a self-starter and powerhouse that is aware of the struggle. So why is he on the show?

Because his brand of craziness had him leave his corporate job while having two small baby girls at home.
You see, it’s strong in this one.

Russ & Maurice welcome Chris Wiedmar of Crazy Horses as their first guest to the show.
As a co-founder of a company based in Louisville, KY, it seems all too logical that they would promote it by bringing local bourbon across the nation. When I add that a company named Party Horses isn't a local event agency you might start to understand why this episode is just right to kick us off.
One more question: 'What if horses went to the track as spectators and watched the human race?'
